House Resolution 537 By: Representatives Lim of the 98th, Tran of the 80th, Au of the 50th, Beckles of the 96th, and Park of the 107th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Dr. Jung Ha Kim and the Community Resource Corporation; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Dr. Jung Ha Kim has dedicated more than three decades to academia and nonprofit leadership, specializing in community education, program development, curriculum design, research, and advocacy; and WHEREAS, she is the founder and president of the Community Resource Corporation (CRC), a nonprofit organization committed to addressing racial and gender disparities in immigrant and refugee communities; and WHEREAS, the CRC has played a pivotal role in fostering community partnerships, collaborating with organizations such as the Lucky Shoals Community Association to develop dementia respite care programs and working with the Fielding School of Public Health at UCLA on the BRAVE study; and WHEREAS, the CRC has further led efforts to promote cultural heritage and representation by supporting events such as the AAPI Cultural Heritage Festival in Suwanee and organizing Korean cultural performances at Georgia State University; and WHEREAS, her extensive experience in nonprofit management includes serving as CEO and President of the Center for Pan Asian Community Services Inc. (CPACS), where she oversaw a budget expansion from $11 million to $14 million and contributed to over 20 published articles, interviews, and documentaries highlighting community projects; and WHEREAS, Dr. Jung Ha Kim has long been an advocate for social justice and equity, serving on national mentoring committees, securing grants to address intimate partner violence in immigrant communities, and working to improve data collection on Asian American health and well-being; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this distinguished leader be appropriately honored during this special time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Jung Ha Kim for her invaluable contributions to community engagement, research, and nonprofit leadership as well as extend best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr. Jung Ha Kim.
