A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Congresswoman Lucy McBath; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Congresswoman Lucy McBath has devoted her career to advocating for bipartisan solutions that address gun violence, support small businesses, strengthen the economy, protect veterans, and lower healthcare and prescription drug costs; and
WHEREAS, since taking office in January 2019, she has worked across party lines to advance meaningful legislation, earning recognition as an effective lawmaker and a leading voice within the House Democratic Caucus; and
WHEREAS, she played a key role in the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the first comprehensive gun safety legislation in over three decades; championed the HAVEN Act, which provides protections for veterans experiencing financial hardship; and supported a bill to limit the cost of insulin for seniors on Medicare to $35 per month; and
WHEREAS, her advocacy in Congress has been shaped by her lived experiences, particularly her unwavering dedication to preventing other families from enduring the pain of losing a loved one to gun violence; and
WHEREAS, Congresswoman McBath has proudly represented metro Atlanta in Georgia's Sixth Congressional District, working diligently to uplift and protect the communities she serves through meaningful policy and action; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished individual be appropriately honored.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Congresswoman Lucy McBath for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service as well as extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Congresswoman Lucy McBath.
