A RESOLUTION
Recognizing January 28, 2025, as Gwinnett Chamber Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, established in 1947, the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce has championed the needs and interests of businesses within Gwinnett County, Georgia, for more than 77 years; and
WHEREAS, the chamber currently serves more than 2,000 members and represents more than 22,000 businesses and 10,000 sole proprietors in Gwinnett County, which is home to nearly 600 international businesses; and
WHEREAS, the chamber has earned a five-star accreditation from the United States Chamber of Commerce, the highest designation achievable in the chamber industry nationwide; and
WHEREAS, on August 1, 2023, the chamber was awarded the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives "Chamber of the Year" designation, the first time the chamber has received this honor; and
WHEREAS, the chamber further maintains Memorandum of Understanding agreements with 11 bi-lateral chambers in metro Atlanta; and
WHEREAS, as additional testament to its dedication to excellence, 2025 represents the first full year of service for the chamber's newly renovated $6 million three-story facility, which preserves the legacy of its original construction while providing Gwinnett County with a modernized hub for business; and
WHEREAS, under the guidance of its current leadership, including President and CEO Nick Masino, Senior Vice Presidents Alicia Krogh and Lisa Sherman, Vice President of Public Policy and External Affairs Paul Oh, prior Chair Lanier Levett, Chair Elect Kim Hartsock, Chair of the Public Policy Advisory Committee Trey Ragsdale, and Chair Brad Carr, the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce continues to exemplify excellence in fostering economic growth and advocating for the business community; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this extraordinary chamber be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize January 28, 2025, as Gwinnett Chamber Day at the state capitol and extend best wishes for the continued growth, development, and success of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce.
