## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally commends Karen Ramsey, Deputy Director of Gwinnett Housing Corporation, for her work on housing and home repair programs for Gwinnett County residents.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives honoring Karen Ramsey for her service as Deputy Director of the Gwinnett Housing Corporation (GHC). It does not change any Georgia law; instead it recognizes her work since joining GHC in 2022, including launching the Homeowner Resource Center, the Healthy Homes Production Program, and the Older Adults Home Modification Program.
The resolution directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to Ramsey, so she has a formal record of the House's recognition. It contains no funding, penalties, or regulatory changes; it is purely an expression of praise and appreciation from the legislature.

### What it does

- Formally recognizes and commends Karen Ramsey for her public service as Deputy Director of the Gwinnett Housing Corporation.
- States the House's praise for programs she helped launch, including home repair and senior home modification services in Gwinnett County.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and distribute an official copy of the resolution to Ramsey.
- Creates no new law, funding, or regulatory requirement; it is a symbolic statement rather than a change to the Georgia Code.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names Karen Ramsey and the Gwinnett Housing Corporation. It indirectly references low to moderate income homeowners and renters, and senior citizens in Gwinnett County who benefit from the housing programs described.

### Why it matters

The resolution has no legal or financial effect on Georgians; it is a formal, public statement of appreciation. Its main real-world consequence is that Ramsey receives an official House document recognizing her work on Gwinnett County housing and home repair programs.

### Key provisions

- The whereas clauses describe Ramsey's role since 2022 and the three programs she helped create: the Homeowner Resource Center, the Healthy Homes Production Program, and the Older Adults Home Modification Program.
- The first resolving clause formally commends Ramsey for her public service to the State of Georgia and wishes her continued health and happiness.
- The second resolving clause directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to make a copy of the resolution available for distribution to Ramsey.
