House Resolution 594

A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of David Lamar Beecher, Sr.; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2
with the passing of David Lamar Beecher, Sr., on March, 6, 2025; and3
WHEREAS, David Lamar Beecher, Sr., born in 1941, was a beloved son of Fate and Sarah4
Beecher; and5
WHEREAS, since 1970, David Lamar Beecher, Sr., has been a beloved member of the David6
Emmanuel Academy Community; and7
WHEREAS, his unwavering and principled guidance inspired his faculty and staff, as well8
as set an example for countless students; and9
WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, David Lamar Beecher, Sr., was an active10
member of Olney Primitive Baptist Church; and11

WHEREAS, he was blessed with three remarkable children, Dave, Mark, and Jim; and eight12
wonderful grandchildren, Davis, Jonathan, Lily Jane, Ashton, Braden, Madison, Hudson, and13
Sarah Beth; and14
WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern15
for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his16
family and friends were admired by others; and17
WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation18
for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he19
made this world a better place in which to live; and20
WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, David Lamar Beecher, Sr., will long be21
remembered for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who22
had the great fortune of knowing him.23
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24
the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of David Lamar Beecher, Sr.,25
and express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.26
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the28
family of David Lamar Beecher, Sr.29
