A RESOLUTION

Celebrating the Georgia Latino Film Alliance and the Georgia International Film Festival; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Georgia Latino Film Alliance has been supporting, educating, and empowering Latinos in film, entertainment, and arts since 2011; and

WHEREAS, the alliance ensures that the Latino community has a dedicated space in Georgia where Latino film executives, directors, and artists are celebrated; and

WHEREAS, the Georgia Latino Film Alliance is a conduit to Georgia Latino International Film Festival, an annual event that is celebrated in the state of Georgia, featuring Latino directed, produced, and acted films; and

WHEREAS, the Georgia Latino International Film Festival was created to elevate independent filmmakers, offer educational programs, and bring top-tier Latino cinema to Georgia, empowering the next generation of storytellers; and

WHEREAS, together these organizations showcase Latino talent in Georgia, educate and empower the next generation of Latino storytellers, and share their stories around the world; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this vibrant celebration of Hispanic heritage be appropriately honored.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body celebrate the Georgia Latino Film Alliance and the Georgia International Film Festival for supporting, educating, and empowering Latinos in film, entertainment, and arts.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Georgia Latino Film Alliance.
