A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Mayor Allison Wilkerson; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Mayor Allison Wilkerson has long been recognized by the citizens of this state2
for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the3
welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and4
WHEREAS, Mayor Wilkerson is a lifelong resident of both Gwinnett County and the City5
of Grayson; and6
WHEREAS, a graduate of the 2001 Leadership Gwinnett Class, Mayo r Wilkerson was7
elected to her first term as a Grayson City Council member in 2002 and served the Grayson8
community for twelve years; and9
WHEREAS, in 2014, she was elected as the first female and second-generation mayor of the10
city; and11
WHEREAS, she selflessly serves on the school council board at Grayson Elementary School,12
is president of District 3 on the Georgia Municipal Association ’s Training Board, and is a13

recipient of the Servant Leadership Award from the Georgia Women’s Legislative Caucus;14
and15
WHEREAS, Mayor Wilkerson's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable16
patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of17
this state have earned her the respect and admiration of her community; and18
WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for19
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and20
WHEREAS, Mayor Wilkerson has served with honor and distinction, and her vision and21
unyielding commitment to the City of Grayson has set the standard for public service; and22
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this23
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.24
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25
the members of this body recognize and commend Mayor Allison Wilkerson and extend the26
most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.27
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Mayor29
Allison Wilkerson.30
