A RESOLUTION

Honoring the life and memory of Audrey Lee Clinton Fisher; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens with the passing of Audrey Lee Clinton Fisher on October 28, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Audrey Lee Clinton Fisher was born on December 6, 1936, in Jacksonville, Florida, a beloved daughter of Joseph and Ophelia Clinton; and

WHEREAS, an accomplished educator and leader, Audrey Lee Clinton Fisher served as a senior-level administrator for Boston Public Schools, a school psychologist and post-secondary counselor in Michigan, a professor, a drama coach, a teacher, and the Director of the Southern Region Education Legal Project of the NAACP; and

WHEREAS, she further served her community as a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, sharing this legacy with her daughter, granddaughter, and oldest sister; and

WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, she was an active member of St. Paul AME Church from a young age, participating in Sunday school, the Allen Christian League, the Youth Choir, and Vacation Bible School; and

WHEREAS, she was blessed with one remarkable daughter, Rhonda, two wonderful grandchildren, Devin and Jasmyn, and five beloved great-grandchildren, Kamdyn, Kyler, Jordan, Kinsley, and Kamyrah; and

WHEREAS, she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding she demonstrated to her family and friends were admired by others; and

WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she made of her life, she made this world a better place in which to live; and

WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous woman, Audrey Lee Clinton Fisher will long be remembered for her love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great fortune of knowing her.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Audrey Lee Clinton Fisher and express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Audrey Lee Clinton Fisher.
