## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally commends the International WeLoveU Foundation for two decades of blood drives and humanitarian work, including a recent blood drive at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

### Plain-language summary

This resolution does not change any law. It is a formal statement from the Georgia House of Representatives recognizing the International WeLoveU Foundation, a nonprofit founded in 2001 that has been affiliated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications since 2018.
The resolution highlights the foundation's volunteer network of nearly 300,000 people across more than 50 countries, its 2021 National Blood Donation Campaign launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, and a September 2024 blood drive held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium with the American Red Cross. It commends the foundation's 20 years of blood drive work and directs the Clerk of the House to send a copy of the resolution to the organization.

### What it does

- Formally recognizes and commends the International WeLoveU Foundation for its humanitarian and volunteer work.
- States the House's support for the foundation's blood donation campaigns and community service efforts.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and send a copy of the resolution to the foundation.
- Creates no new law, funding, or regulatory requirement, since it is a ceremonial resolution rather than a bill.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names the International WeLoveU Foundation and its Southeast USA chapter. It also references the American Red Cross as a blood drive partner, but imposes no obligations on any Georgia agency, business, or resident.

### Why it matters

Because this is a commendation rather than a law, it has no direct legal or financial effect on Georgians. Its main practical result is an official record of recognition from the state legislature, sent to the foundation, honoring its blood drives and volunteer work.

### Key provisions

- The whereas clauses describe the foundation's founding in 2001, its UN affiliation since 2018, and its volunteer base of nearly 300,000 people in over 50 countries.
- The resolution notes a January 2021 National Blood Donation Campaign launched in response to COVID-19 related blood shortages.
- It references a September 15, 2024 blood drive at Mercedes-Benz Stadium held with the American Red Cross, alongside drives in Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
- The resolving clause formally commends the foundation for its contributions and wishes it continued success.
- A final clause directs the Clerk of the House to send a copy of the resolution to the foundation.
