A RESOLUTION
Congratulating the Hardaway Hawks varsity girls basketball team for winning the 20251
GHSA Class 2A Girls Varsity Basketball State Championship; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the Hardaway Hawks varsity girls basketball team has e stablished and3
maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics;4
and5
WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school by winning the 2025 GHSA6
Class 2A Girls Varsity Basketball State Championship against the Murray County Indians7
with a final score of 47 to 34, marking their first-ever state championship victory in school8
history; and9
WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding10
athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the11
team; its superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of Head Coach Kelly12

WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by14
performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is15
abundantly proper to call them champions.16
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that17
the members of this body congratulate the Hardaway Hawks varsity girls basketball team for18
winning the 2025 GHSA Class 2A Girls Varsity Basketball State Championship and extend19
best wishes for their continued success.20
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized21
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the22
Hardaway Hawks varsity girls basketball team.23
