A RESOLUTION
Commending D.J. Hurm for being named Monroe County's Teacher of the Year for 2024 and1
recognizing his exceptional contributions to education and the community; and for other2
purposes.3
WHEREAS, D.J. Hurm, a dedicated educator at Mary Persons High S chool, has been4
honored as Monroe County's Teacher of the Year for 2024, reflec ting his commitment to5
excellence in teaching and his positive impact on students; and6
WHEREAS, D.J. Hurm has demonstrated outstanding leadership and innovation in the7
classroom, fostering an engaging and supportive learning enviro nment that encourages8
student growth and achievement; and9
WHEREAS, his dedication extends beyond the classroom as he acti vely participates in10
extracurricular activities and comm unity initiatives, further e nriching the educational11
experience for his students and strengthening community ties; and12
WHEREAS, his passion for education and unwavering commitment to his students serve as13
an inspiration to his colleagues, students, and the broader community.14

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that15
the members of this body commend D.J. Hurm for his exemplary service as an educator, his16
recognition as Monroe County's Teacher of the Year for 2024, an d his significant17
contributions to the academic and personal development of his students.18
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized19
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to D.J.20
Hurm.21
