A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Mr. Daniel Kiptoo Bargoria on his outstanding public service; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mr. Daniel Kiptoo Bargoria has significantly impacted Kenya's energy sector as the Director General of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) since December 14, 2020; and

WHEREAS, in his current role as Director General of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), Mr. Bargoria regulates Kenya's electricity and petroleum sectors, ensuring efficient and sustainable operations across the entire value chain; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Bargoria's leadership is marked by several notable achievements, including as chairman of the Government's First Oil Committee, where he oversaw the delivery of Kenya's first oil, a historic milestone positioning Kenya as a new player in the global oil market; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Bargoria's contributions to Kenya's energy legislation are significant, as he was instrumental in drafting the Kenyan Energy Act (2019) and Petroleum Act (2019), which has been essential for governing the sector, promoting sustainable development, and attracting investment; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished individual be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Mr. Daniel Kiptoo Bargoria for his efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to Kenya and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Mr. Daniel Kiptoo Bargoria.
