## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution recognizes April 22, 2025, as DJ Day, honoring a list of named disc jockeys for their role in shaping music and culture.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives, not a change to state law. It declares April 22, 2025, as DJ Day in Georgia, citing the role disc jockeys play in introducing new music, shaping trends, and bringing people together through their performances in clubs, festivals, and on the radio.
The resolution names a specific group of DJs to be honored this year, including DJ Toni K., DJ Encore ATL, DJ Silk Provibes, and several others. It directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to make copies available for distribution to the public and the press, which is standard practice for this type of honorary resolution.

### What it does

- Formally recognizes April 22, 2025, as DJ Day in the Georgia House of Representatives.
- Names twelve specific individuals, including DJ Toni K. and DJ Encore ATL, to be honored on DJ Day this year.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare copies of the resolution for the public and the press.
- Creates no new statutory requirements, funding, or penalties since it is a commemorative resolution rather than a law.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names and honors twelve individual DJs. More broadly, it symbolically recognizes disc jockeys and the music and entertainment industry in Georgia, though it creates no legal obligations for any group.

### Why it matters

Because this is a ceremonial resolution rather than binding legislation, its practical effect is symbolic recognition rather than a change to daily life. It does not create funding, rules, or penalties for anyone in Georgia.

### Key provisions

- The resolving clause recognizes April 22, 2025, as DJ Day, the resolution's core action.
- A whereas clause lists twelve named DJs to be honored this year.
- A further resolution directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to distribute copies to the public and the press.
