Crawford of the 89th
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Will Anderson Jr.; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Will Anderson Jr., of Hampton, Georgia, is a third-year star defensive end on2
the Houston Texans; and3
WHEREAS, he was selected third overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, was named a Texans Pro4
Bowl alternate, and at the conclusion of his first season was named 2023 Defensive Rookie5
of the Year, earned a spot on the Pro Football Writers Association's All-Rookie Team list,6
and received his first Pro Bowl selection; and7
WHEREAS, prior to his professional career, Will led the Univers ity of Alabama to three8
successful seasons, ending the 2020 season with a National Championship victory; and9
WHEREAS, his collegiate accolades include being named the Bronko Nagurski winner two10
times, earning the 2022 Chuck Bednarik Award, achieving two SEC Defensive Player of the11
Year honors and two unanimous All-American honors, as well as being named team captain12
by his peers in 2023 and 2024; and13

WHEREAS, beyond his on-field dominance, Will has a strong focus on giving back to the14
communities that impacted him the most, with a specific focus o n helping the next15
generation; and16
WHEREAS, this stellar athlete epitomizes the courage, determina tion, leadership, and17
character necessary to attain excellence in athletic prowess and performance; and18
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this19
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.20
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21
the members of this body recognize and commend Will Anderson Jr., for his athletic success22
and devotion to his community as well as extend the most sincere best wishes for continued23
health and happiness.24
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Will26
Anderson Jr.27
