A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, for over thirty-six years, Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries (NCM) has been serving southwestern Gwinnett County by providing food, clothing, short term financial assistance, and job placement services to families in need; and
WHEREAS, NCM was formed as a collaboration of serval churches, individuals, and social and civic organizations to help serve neighbors in crisis, transforming lives through the love of Christ; and
WHEREAS, NCM has continued to grow as the needs in the area increase, adding new ministries focusing on personal empowerment, including a job ministry, financial management classes, children's programs, case management, and spiritual programs; and
WHEREAS, in the past five years, NCM has responded to the COVID-19 crisis, overhauled its technology and website, hired its first part-time controller, partnered with numerous new organizations, and completed serval renovation, construction, and expansion projects; and
WHEREAS, this outstanding organization has had a tremendous impact on its community through its spirit of service and desire to improve the quality of life in Gwinnett, Georgia; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries be appropriately honored.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries for its many valuable contributions on behalf of the citizens of Georgia and extend best wishes for the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries.
