A RESOLUTION

Commending the Happy Hitters of North Atlanta; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Happy Hitters of North Atlanta pickleball team was co-founded by Karla Blaginin and Arthur Jackson to provide athletes with special needs the opportunity to develop skills, build friendships, and compete in pickleball; and

WHEREAS, the team's roster was created with 12 athletes from Peachtree Corners, Roswell, Alpharetta, Dunwoody, and the surrounding area with the support of six community volunteers, five parent volunteers, and generous donors who helped cover game fees, team shirts, and refreshments; and

WHEREAS, ACE Pickleball has donated space to the team for two seasons in a row for practice, events, and meetings, and the Ace Pickleball Club of Roswell has lent its indoor courts and space; and

WHEREAS, the team includes dedicated players Cici Rose, Colin Cooperider, Dana Lu, Elijah Nunn, Gracie King, Jack Chaplin, Jake Jeffries, Kirtana Bulusu, Luke Harriman, Max Bartholomai, Mimi Ngo, and Myles Henderson, all of whom have exhibited outstanding sportsmanship; and

WHEREAS, under the leadership of Coach Karla Blaginin, athlete Mimi Ngo has advanced to mainstream pickleball tournaments, expanding opportunities for special needs athletes within the sport; and

WHEREAS, the Happy Hitters of North Atlanta continue to be a shining example of inclusivity, perseverance, and the positive impact of adaptive sports programs, fostering personal growth and community support for athletes with special needs.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Happy Hitters of North Atlanta for their excellence in pickleball and extend best wishes for their continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Happy Hitters of North Atlanta.
