## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A House resolution honors The Sunshine House, an early childhood education company, on its 50th anniversary and recognizes its growth since 1975.

### Plain-language summary

This resolution is a ceremonial statement from the Georgia House of Representatives marking the 50th anniversary of The Sunshine House, an early childhood education and childcare provider. It recounts the company's founding in 1975 by Dennis and Roseann Drew as a single in-home preschool and its growth into an operation with 119 schools across six states, with plans for seven more.
The resolution does not change any Georgia law. It formally commends The Sunshine House for its history of educating children and directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for the organization as a keepsake.

### What it does

- Formally recognizes and commends The Sunshine House on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.
- States the House of Representatives' best wishes for the organization's continued success.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to The Sunshine House.
- Creates no new law, funding, or regulatory requirement; it is a ceremonial statement only.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names The Sunshine House, its founders Dennis and Roseann Drew, its employees, and the families and children served by its schools. It has no legal effect on any other Georgians or businesses.

### Why it matters

Because this is a ceremonial resolution rather than a law, it does not change anyone's rights, obligations, or funding. Its practical effect is limited to a formal, public acknowledgment from the legislature and a commemorative copy given to the organization.

### Key provisions

- The whereas clauses recount the company's founding in 1975 and its growth to 119 schools in six states serving over 12,000 children daily.
- The resolving clause formally commends The Sunshine House on its 50th anniversary and wishes it continued success.
- A further resolving clause directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to provide a copy of the resolution to The Sunshine House.
