## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution commends the Woodbine Public Library Inc. and the Woodbine Woman's Club for their work supporting literacy and community life in Camden County.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives rather than a law that changes anyone's rights or duties. It recounts the history of the Woodbine Public Library Inc., which was founded as a nonprofit public charity in November 2016 after starting as the Woodbine Library Initiative in January 2016 with support from the Woodbine Woman's Club.
The resolution praises the library for promoting literacy among children and adults in Camden County and for serving as a center of education and community building. The House formally commends the library, its staff, and the Woodbine Woman's Club, and wishes them continued success. It also directs the Clerk of the House to prepare a copy of the resolution for the library.

### What it does

- Formally commends the Woodbine Public Library Inc., its staff, and the Woodbine Woman's Club for their work on literacy and community enrichment.
- Recites the library's history, including its 2016 founding as a nonprofit public charity and its origins as the Woodbine Library Initiative.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to the library.
- Creates no new law, funding, or legal requirement, since it is a commendation resolution rather than a bill.

### Who it affects

The Woodbine Public Library Inc., its staff, and the Woodbine Woman's Club are named and honored. Residents of Woodbine and Camden County who use the library's literacy and education programs are referenced as beneficiaries of its work.

### Why it matters

The resolution has no legal effect on Georgians statewide; it is a symbolic honor. Its main real-world impact is a formal House record and a printed copy given to the library recognizing its role in local literacy and community programs in Camden County.

### Key provisions

- The preamble ('WHEREAS' clauses) describes the library's founding on November 16, 2016 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and its 2016 origins as the Woodbine Library Initiative.
- The resolved clause has the House of Representatives commend the library, its staff, and the Woodbine Woman's Club for literacy and community enrichment work.
- A further resolved clause directs the Clerk of the House to make a copy of the resolution available to the Woodbine Public Library Inc.
