A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the State Government Affairs Council upon its 50th1
anniversary; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the State Government Affairs Council (SGAC) was established 50 years ago3
with the mission to advance and support the state government affairs profession by fostering4
community and relationship building with peers and elected officials, building knowledge,5
and promoting diverse perspectives in a nonpartisan environment; and6
WHEREAS, SGAC's members, consisting of government affairs profe ssionals, have7
consistently worked to enhance understanding and communication between the public and8
private sectors, ensuring the fair representation of diverse in terests; advocating for the9
advancement of policies that promote unparalleled educational o pportunities; providing a10
forum for members and policymakers to convene and collaborate; mentoring the next11
generation of state government affairs professionals; and promoting all aspects of diversity;12
and13
WHEREAS, through its collaboration with legislative bodies, administrative agencies, and14
community stakeholders, SGAC has helped build a more responsive , transparent, and15
accountable government at the state level; and16

WHEREAS, the 50th anniversary of SGAC represents a milestone of achievement and17
service in its ongoing commitment to excellence in government affairs; and18
WHEREAS, SGAC has fostered a forward-thinking platform for addr essing emerging19
challenges in state governance; and20
WHEREAS, SGAC has created a legacy of fostering leadership, training, and advocacy that21
has shaped the professional development of thousands of individ uals in the field of22
government relations.23
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24
the members of this body recognize and commend the State Government Affairs Council for25
its 50 years of dedicated service and significant contributions to enhancing the relationship26
between state and local governments, businesses, and communities.27
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this body encourage continued support28
for the State Government Affairs Council's mission and commend its members for their29
tireless work to advocate for sound policy decisions, transparency, and good governance.30
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this body extend congratulations to the31
State Government Affairs Council and its members on reaching this remarkable milestone32
as well as acknowledge their enduring influence on the state's government affairs landscape.33
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized34
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the35
State Government Affairs Council.36
