A RESOLUTION
Commending Karly Nguyen, Rome High School's 2025 STAR Student; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, a gifted student at Rome High School, Karly Nguyen has been recognized for
her superlative achievement and selected as Rome High School's 2025 STAR Student; and
WHEREAS, to be selected as a STAR Student, a student must have obtained the highest
score in one administration of the three-part Scholastic Aptitude Test and be in the top 10
percent or top ten students of his or her class; and
WHEREAS, each school has one STAR Student who in turn has the opportunity to choose
a STAR Teacher who has been inspiring and encouraging throughout that student's high
school career; and
WHEREAS, educator Seth Winstead was chosen by Karly as Rome High School's 2025
STAR Teacher for the great support and guidance provided to her throughout the years; and
WHEREAS, Karly has personified the selfless dedication, mental agility, verbal adroitness,
and personal maturity necessary for superlative academic performance; and
WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most
important objective of the General Assembly, and Karly has shown by academic
accomplishment that the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success are within the reach of
the students in this state; and
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of this
bright and promising young citizen.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body heartily commend Karly Nguyen for being named Rome High
School's 2025 STAR Student and express their most sincere best wishes for continued
academic success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Karly
Nguyen.
