## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally recognizes and commends Nadine Ali, a DeKalb County community advocate, for her public service and leadership.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives honoring Nadine Ali, an Atlanta native and DeKalb County community leader. The resolution highlights her work founding the South Candler Neighborhood Advocates in 2008, an organization that runs educational programs on healthy eating, active living, and mental health awareness for families in DeKalb County. It also notes her service with the DeKalb NAACP and the DeKalb County Ethics Board.
The resolution does not change any Georgia law. It simply states the House's recognition of her contributions and directs the Clerk of the House to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to Ali as a keepsake.

### What it does

- Formally recognizes and commends Nadine Ali for her public service to DeKalb County and the state of Georgia.
- States the House's praise for her work founding and leading the South Candler Neighborhood Advocates, a community health education group.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and distribute an official copy of the resolution to Nadine Ali.
- Creates no new law, funding, or regulatory requirement, since it is a ceremonial resolution rather than a bill.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names Nadine Ali, a DeKalb County community advocate, and references the organizations she has worked with, including the South Candler Neighborhood Advocates, the DeKalb NAACP, and the DeKalb County Ethics Board. It has no broader legal effect on other Georgians.

### Why it matters

This resolution carries symbolic rather than legal weight. It does not change any rights, funding, or rules for Georgians; its practical effect is limited to publicly honoring one individual's community work and providing her with an official keepsake copy from the House.

### Key provisions

- The preamble (whereas clauses) describes Nadine Ali's background, including founding the South Candler Neighborhood Advocates in 2008 to promote health and fitness awareness.
- The resolved clause formally commends Ali for her public service and extends well wishes for her continued health and happiness.
- A further resolved clause directs the Clerk of the House to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to Ali.
