A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Cookie Wright; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Cookie Wright is an award-winning radio personality, pioneering broadcaster,2
and dedicated community advocate; and3
WHEREAS, she is a trailblazer in the radio and music industry, known for her distinctive4
voice and dynamic presence; and5
WHEREAS, her remarkable career highlights include co-hosting th e “Saturday Night6
Throwback Party Show” on KISS 104.1 FM alongside Georgia Radio Hall of Famer Mitch7
Faulkner and launching the groundbreaking “Soul Blues Live” on Classix 102.9 FM; and8
WHEREAS, in 2019, she took a bold step by founding her own inte rnet radio station,9
broadcasting from Atlanta and London to over 50 countries; the station offers 24/710
programming and has become a global hub for Soul Blues, Old School, R&B, and more; and11
WHEREAS, known as the “Maven of Soul Blues,” Cookie has broken new music for12
countless artists, including Tucka, King George, and Karen Wolfe; and13

WHEREAS, she has received numerous accolades, including ATL’s H ottest Female DJ,14
Media Radio Personality of the Year, Best Online Network, and induction into the National15
Black Radio Hall of Fame; and16
WHEREAS, Cookie's achievements extend far beyond her professional career, as evidenced17
dramatically by her air-time profits donations, implementation of food programs for18
neighborhoods in need, and her dedication to advocating for pressing social issues; and 19
WHEREAS, Cookie Wright has not only amplified Atlanta’s presence in the global music20
scene but has also become a beacon of inspiration for aspiring artists and broadcasters; and 21
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this22
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.23
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24
the members of this body recognize and commend Cookie Wright fo r her extraordinary25
contributions to Atlanta’s cultural, musical, and social landsc ape and extend sincere best26
wishes for her continued health and happiness.27
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to29
Cookie Wright.30
