A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Tamika Scott; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, March is celebrated as Women's History Month, a time to honor and recognize the invaluable contributions of women throughout history and across all fields and trades; and

WHEREAS, Tamika Scott's contributions to the community reflect the core values of Women's History Month; and

WHEREAS, Tamika is a dedicated and passionate public service professional with 18 years of progressive experience in the non-profit sector, who serves and advocates for municipalities across Georgia; and

WHEREAS, a long-time resident of Dekalb County, Tamika has a deep commitment to community engagement, empowerment, and leadership; and

WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced dramatically by her superlative service with the Parent-Teacher-Student Association, Fairfield Baptist Church, and the Lithonia Community Dekalb County Democratic Committee; and

WHEREAS, she looks forward to using her knowledge and skills to champion for Dekalb County Democratic Party by encouraging and reminding voters to “advocate, with your vote”; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding contributions of this remarkable woman are recognized during Women's History Month.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Tamika Scott for her unwavering dedication to service and extend sincere best wishes for her continued health, happiness, and success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Tamika Scott.
