A RESOLUTION

Commending Yoel Glover, Vincent Nnanna, Luke Roner, and Joseph Williams of Alpharetta High School for winning the 2024 GHSA 6A Individual Track and Field State Championship in the 4x400-meter relay; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Yoel Glover, a senior; Vincent Nnanna, a junior; Luke Roner, a sophomore; and Joseph Williams, a junior at Alpharetta High School, have established and maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and

WHEREAS, these superlative athletes have completed a triumphant season of track competition that included several prestigious invitationals and meets; and

WHEREAS, excellent skill, superior fitness, and extraordinary resilience made Yoel, Vincent, Joseph, and Luke spectacular runners to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to their remarkable 2024 campaign, they captured the state championship in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:16.57, becoming the first state champions in the event at Alpharetta High School since 2021; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of these four young runners is a clear indication of their outstanding athletic ability, dedication, and hard work, as well as their fighting spirit, superb discipline, and commitment to track, guided by the astute direction of Head Coach AJ Merine; and

WHEREAS, as these outstanding athletes earned their well-deserved reputation for excellence by performing with confidence, grit, and precision over months of training, conditioning, and competition, it is abundantly proper to call them champions.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Yoel Glover, Vincent Nnanna, Luke Roner, and Joseph Williams of Alpharetta High School for winning the 2024 GHSA 6A Individual Track and Field State Championship in the 4x400-meter relay and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to Yoel Glover, Vincent Nnanna, Luke Roner, and Joseph Williams.
