## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally congratulates the Charles R. Drew Public Charter School varsity boys golf team for winning the State Golfing Championship.

### Plain-language summary

This resolution is a ceremonial measure from the Georgia House of Representatives recognizing the Charles R. Drew Public Charter School varsity boys golf team for winning the State Golfing Championship. The text describes the team as the first all-Black team, and the first Atlanta Public Schools team, to win a state golf championship in Georgia, and notes the team beat the two-time defending state champions by more than 15 strokes.
The resolution credits Head Coach Nyre Williams for the team's direction and praises the players' athletic ability, dedication, and unity. It does not change any Georgia law; it simply has the House formally congratulate the team and directs the Clerk of the House to provide the team with a copy of the resolution.

### What it does

- Formally congratulates the Charles R. Drew Public Charter School varsity boys golf team for winning the State Golfing Championship.
- States that the team is the first all-Black team, and first Atlanta Public Schools team, to win a State Golf Championship in Georgia.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to the team.

### Who it affects

### Why it matters

The resolution carries no legal or financial effect; it is a public, official statement of recognition from the Georgia House of Representatives honoring the team's championship season and its historic status as the first all-Black team to win the title.

### Key provisions
