A RESOLUTION

Commending the Morehouse School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) Physician Assistant (PA) Program is one of the health professional graduate programs at MSM, developed in response to rising health care needs across Georgia and beyond; and

WHEREAS, the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant Inc. (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Morehouse School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program, which is conferred when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards; and

WHEREAS, the program fosters workforce diversity and enhances access to care in underserved rural and urban communities across Georgia; and

WHEREAS, the Morehouse School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program provides a rigorous graduate medical curriculum that empowers students to prioritize and improve community health outcomes through civic engagement, ethical leadership, and global social responsibility; and

WHEREAS, the mission of the program is to lead the creation and advancement of health equity and achieve health justice by educating and equipping future physician assistants for academic, personal, and professional success, ensuring they become lifelong learners who provide compassionate, high-quality, patient-centered care to meet the primary health care needs of the urban and rural underserved populations in Georgia and the nation; and

WHEREAS, the values of the Morehouse School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program are Integrity, Wisdom, Knowledge, Excellence, Innovation, Service, Compassion, Leadership, and Professionalism.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Morehouse School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program for its many outstanding contributions on behalf of the citizens of the State of Georgia and beyond as well as extend best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Morehouse School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program.
