## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally congratulates the Lambert High School Economics Team for winning first place at the 2024 World Economics Cup, an international student economics competition.

### Plain-language summary

This is a commendation resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives. It does not change any law; it recognizes an achievement. The Lambert High School Economics Team finished first among 398 teams and 2,191 competitors from 50 countries at the 2024 World Economics Cup, an international competition for students interested in economics.
The resolution names the six team members and describes the competition's format, which included two objective tests and a 24-hour final task under the theme 'The Dawn of a Tech-Driven New Economy.' The House resolves to congratulate the team and directs the Clerk of the House to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to the team.

### What it does

- Congratulates the Lambert High School Economics Team on the House's behalf for winning the 2024 World Economics Cup.
- Names the six student team members recognized: Arhan Barve, Neal Karani, Shivam Gupta, Ethan Baek, Vivan Kotla, and Balaskanda Sivanandame.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to the team.
- Extends the House's best wishes for the team's continued success, without creating any new law or funding.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names and honors the six members of the Lambert High School Economics Team and, by extension, Lambert High School. It has no legal effect on any other group.

### Why it matters

The resolution carries no legal or financial weight and changes nothing in Georgia law; its practical effect is a formal, public acknowledgment from the state legislature of a specific group of students' academic achievement in an international competition.

### Key provisions

- The whereas clauses describe the 2024 World Economics Cup, including the competition theme, format, and Lambert's win among 398 teams and 2,191 competitors from 50 countries.
- The first resolving clause has the House congratulate the team and wish it continued success.
- The second resolving clause directs the Clerk of the House to make a copy available for distribution to the team.
