A RESOLUTION
Congratulating the Creekside High School girls basketball team for winning the 2025 GHSA1
Class 4A State Basketball Championship; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the Creekside High School girls basketball team has established and maintained3
a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and4
WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another triumphant season of basketball5
competition by posting an outstanding record of 32 wins and only no losses; and6
WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team7
a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable8
2025 campaign, the team captured its first state basketball championship; and9
WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school by winning the 2024 GHSA10
Class 4A State Basketball Championship against Maynard Jackson with a final score of 5711
to 37; and12
WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding13
athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the14

team; its superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astut e direction of Head Coach15
Akennia Ellis; and16
WHEREAS, Head Coach Akennia Ellis was named Region 4-AAAA Coach of the Year,17
GPB Sports 4A Coach of the Year, Sandy’s Spiel 4A Coach of the Year and Georgia Athletic18
Coaches Association Coach of the Year; and19
WHEREAS, the team included all star performers Jacy Mitchell, S kye Cleveland, and20
C’India Dennis; and21
WHEREAS, C’India Dennis and Skye Cleveland both surpassed 1,000 career points this22
season; and 23
WHEREAS, Skye Cleveland was selected as All State by the Georgi a Athletic Coaches24
Association and for the Georgia Basketball Coaches Association All Star Team; and 25
WHEREAS, C’India Dennis has been recognized as Morgan and Morga n 4A State26
Championship MVP, Georgia Athletic Coaches Association 4A South Player of the Year,27
Sandy’s Spiel 4A Player of the Year and 1st Team All-State, Region 4-AAAA Player of the28
Year, Atlanta Tip Off Club 3rd Team Honoree, and is scholar athlete with a 3.45 GPA; and 29
WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by30
performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is31
abundantly proper to call them champions.32
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that33
the members of this body congratulate the Creekside High School girls basketball team for34

for their continued success.36
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized37
