## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally commends East Forsyth High School wrestler Jackson Moffit for winning the 2025 GHSA Class 4A State Wrestling Championship.

### Plain-language summary

This resolution is a ceremonial honor from the Georgia House of Representatives recognizing Jackson Moffit, a wrestler at East Forsyth High School, for winning the 175-pound weight class at the 2025 GHSA (Georgia High School Association) Class 4A State Wrestling Championship. It highlights his season record of 36 wins and 2 losses, with 25 wins by pin, and notes that this was his second consecutive state title and second regional championship.
The resolution does not change any Georgia law. It simply states the House's recognition of his achievement and directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for Moffit as a keepsake.

### What it does

- Formally recognizes and commends Jackson Moffit for winning the 2025 GHSA Class 4A State Wrestling Championship in the 175-pound weight class.
- States facts about his 36-2 season record, including 25 wins by pin, as the basis for the honor.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to Moffit.
- Extends the House's best wishes for his continued success, without creating any new law, funding, or requirement.

### Who it affects

This resolution affects only Jackson Moffit, the wrestler being honored, and involves East Forsyth High School and the Clerk of the House of Representatives, who must prepare a copy for him. It creates no obligations for the public.

### Why it matters

The resolution carries no legal or financial effect; it is a symbolic gesture. Its main real-world consequence is that Moffit receives an official printed copy from the Georgia House of Representatives recognizing his state championship achievement.

### Key provisions

- The whereas clauses describe Moffit's championship win, season record of 36-2 with 25 pins, and his second consecutive state title.
- The resolving clause has the House of Representatives recognize and commend Moffit and wish him continued success.
- A further resolving clause directs the Clerk of the House to make a copy of the resolution available for distribution to Moffit.
