A RESOLUTION

Congratulating the Denmark High School boys cross country team for winning the 2024 GHSA Class 6A State Cross Country Championship; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Denmark High School boys cross country team has established and maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and

WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable 2024 campaign, the team captured the state cross country championship; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team, and the astute direction of Head Coach Andrew Hudson; and

WHEREAS, this all-star team included seniors Ethan Bridge, Evan Ashley, Quincy Anderson, Zach Hilyer, Aidan Hicks, Jacob Stevens, and Connor Kazemi; junior Akshay Sogarwal; sophomores Jacob Grant and Ranel Lopez ; and freshmen Justin Cook and Gentry Anderson; and

WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition, it is abundantly proper to call them champions.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate the Denmark High School boys cross country team for winning the 2024 GHSA Class 6A State Cross Country Championship and extend best wishes for their continued success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Denmark High School boys cross country team.
