of the 24th, Clark of the 100th, and others
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Owen Cooper on winning the 50 and 10 0 Freestyle State1
Championships; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Owen Cooper of North Forsyth High School earned the top title in the state with3
his win in the 50 and 100 freestyle at the State Swimming Championship; and4
WHEREAS, this stellar young man epitomizes the courage, determination, leadership, and5
character necessary to attain excellence in athletic prowess and performance; and6
WHEREAS, his months of training and competition have been rewarded with an impressive7
win, and it is appropriate that he holds the title of champion; and8
WHEREAS, Owen's victory was the culmination of a season of hard work, dedication, and9
excellent sportsmanship; and10
WHEREAS, his superior skill, strategy, stamina, and control have earned him the respect and11
admiration of his teammates and challengers; and12

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the superlati ve abilities of this13
accomplished and gifted student-athlete, as well as the pride, honor, and respect he has14
brought to himself, his school, and his community, be appropriately recognized.15
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that16
the members of this body recognize and commend Owen Cooper on winning the 50 and 10017
Freestyle State Championships and extend best wishes for success in the future.18
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized19
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Owen20
Cooper.21
