House Resolution 912

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending the Conn Family; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Conn Family has dedicated a combined total of 173 years of service under the Gold Dome, including the tenures of Roy Conn, Clifford Conn, Jane Conn, Judy Conn, Mandy Conn, Brian Conn, and Barry Conn; and

WHEREAS, Roy, the father of Clifford and Jane, set an example of remarkable service for his children through his 16 years as security with the Georgia Building Authority, working from 1970 to 1986; and

WHEREAS, the longest-serving member of the Conn Family, Clifford has spent 53 years and counting as part of the Clerk's Office, where he works on the night crew; and

WHEREAS, during her 34 years of service, Jane spent 10 and a half years working in the Governor's Office and 23 and a half years as part of the Georgia Building Authority, serving from 1965 to 2002; and

WHEREAS, Judy has served the Clerk's Office with distinction alongside Clifford, her husband, for 33 years, and the two have continued the Conn Family's legacy of service through their three children, Brian, Barry, and Mandy; and

WHEREAS, with 21 years, 11 years, and five years of service to the Clerk's Office respectively, Brian, Barry, and Mandy represent the newest generation of the Conn Family to have served under the Gold Dome; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this extraordinary family be appropriately honored during this special time.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend the Conn Family for their decades of exemplary service to the Georgia State Capitol as well as extend best wishes to each family member for future health, happiness, and success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Conn Family.
