House Resolution 918

A RESOLUTION

Commending the Payne-Corley House; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, established in 1998, the Payne-Corley House has become one of the Atlanta area's Highest Rated Wedding Venues and has earned recognition as the top wedding venue in the Duluth area on The Knot, the world's largest wedding site; and

WHEREAS, this esteemed venue has further been named Best of Gwinnett for 20 years and is a proud member of The Knot's prestigious "Hall of Fame" for its consistent excellence in wedding services; and

WHEREAS, originally built in 1873, the Payne-Corley House is a shining example of historic preservation, with the restored farmhouse lovingly maintained to preserve its Southern charm while offering modern amenities and a romantically historic sense of place; and

WHEREAS, the house and gardens have been thoughtfully integrated to provide both indoor and outdoor settings for events of all kinds, including social gatherings, corporate functions, and especially weddings; and

WHEREAS, the Payne-Corley House has demonstrated a deep commitment to the community by hosting the Hands of Christ Duluth Co-Op food pantry's annual dinner for eight consecutive years as well as the Duluth Fall Festival's Taste of Duluth event for many years; and

WHEREAS, this distinguished venue is known not only for its scenic beauty and historic ambiance but also for its warm and gracious service, all of which has made it a beloved destination for celebrations throughout the region; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable business be appropriately honored during this special time.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Payne-Corley House for its outstanding contributions to both the hospitality industry and the Duluth community as well as extend best wishes for many more wonderful events in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Payne-Corley House.
