A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending the 2024-2025 Pickens County Dragonettes for their excellent season; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Pickens County Dragonettes secured the number one overall seed in the state playoffs; and

WHEREAS, the Dragonettes ended their stellar season 27-3 in the Elite Eight of the Georgia state playoff; and

WHEREAS, the Dragonettes overcame all expectations and succeeded through many obstacles including losing five seniors and head coach Brandon Thomas; and

WHEREAS, this team continued the tradition of excellence for Dragonettes Basketball by demonstrating hard work, dedication, and perseverance; and

WHEREAS, sports and competition are core to the development of maturity in young men and women; and

WHEREAS, the Dragonettes showed impressive team cohesion and sportsmanship throughout the season.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend the the girls of the 2024-2025 Pickens County Dragonettes basketball team.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Dragonettes basketball team.
