A RESOLUTION

Congratulating DeKalb County School District 2025 Georgia Scholar Lauren Williams; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Lauren Williams, a senior at the DeKalb School of the Arts, has been recognized as a 2025 Georgia Scholar by the Georgia Department of Education; and

WHEREAS, the Georgia Scholar program identifies and honors high school seniors who have excelled academically and contributed significantly to their communities; and

WHEREAS, the Georgia Department of Education coordinates this prestigious program each year in partnership with local school districts to highlight students who embody the spirit of scholarship and service; and

WHEREAS, these exceptional students have completed rigorous course loads, performed at the highest levels across all subjects, engaged in interscholastic events, and served as leaders in extracurricular activities; and

WHEREAS, each Georgia Scholar receives a special seal for their diploma and a commemorative graduation cord in recognition of their outstanding achievements; and

WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most important objective of the General Assembly, and Lauren has shown by academic accomplishment that the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success are within the reach of the students in this state; and

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of this bright and promising young citizen.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate DeKalb County School District 2025 Georgia Scholar Lauren Williams and extend their best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Lauren Williams.
