House Resolution 943
By: Representatives Moore of the 91st and Crawford of the 89th
A RESOLUTION
Congratulating DeKalb County School District 2025 Georgia Scholar Harper May; and for1
other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Harper May, a senior at the DeKalb School of the Arts, has been recognized as3
a 2025 Georgia Scholar by the Georgia Department of Education; and4
WHEREAS, the Georgia Scholar program identifies and honors high school seniors who5
have excelled academically and contributed significantly to their communities; and6
WHEREAS, the Georgia Department of Education coordinates this prestigious program each7
year in partnership with local school districts to highlight students who embody the spirit of8
scholarship and service; and9
WHEREAS, these exceptional students have completed rigorous course loads, performed at10
the highest levels across all subjects, engaged in interscholastic events, and served as leaders11
in extracurricular activities; and12
WHEREAS, each Georgia Scholar receives a special seal for their diploma and a13
commemorative graduation cord in recognition of their outstanding achievements; and14

WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most15
important objective of the General Assembly, and Harper has sho wn by academic16
accomplishment that the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success are within the reach of17
the students in this state; and18
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation tow ard the future of this19
bright and promising young citizen.20
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21
the members of this body congratulate DeKalb County School District 2025 Georgia Scholar22
Harper May and extend their best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to25
Harper May.26
