## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution would formally commend President Donald Trump and Elon Musk for creating the federal Department of Government Efficiency, expressing the House's support for their efforts.

### Plain-language summary

This is a commendatory resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives, not a law that changes anyone's rights or duties. It praises President Donald Trump and Elon Musk for creating the federal Department of Government Efficiency, describing the effort as a step toward streamlining federal operations, reducing waste, and increasing productivity in government agencies.
The resolution states that House members commend Trump and Musk for their leadership on this initiative, express support for continued efforts to cut bureaucracy and use technology to improve government service, and encourage more collaboration between public and private sectors. It directs the Clerk of the House to make copies available to the public and press. It does not create any new Georgia law, program, funding, or requirement.

### What it does

- Formally commends President Donald Trump and Elon Musk for creating the federal Department of Government Efficiency.
- States the Georgia House's support for continued efforts to streamline government functions and reduce bureaucracy at the federal level.
- Encourages further public-private collaboration to make government more efficient and responsive.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to distribute copies of the resolution to the public and press.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and the federal Department of Government Efficiency. It does not impose duties on Georgia residents, businesses, or agencies; its main practical effect is on the Clerk of the House, who must distribute copies.

### Why it matters

Because this is a commendatory resolution, it carries symbolic weight rather than legal force. It does not change any Georgia law, create funding, or impose requirements, but it records the Georgia House's official praise for a federal initiative and instructs that the statement be publicized.

### Key provisions

- The resolved clauses commend Trump and Musk by name for creating the Department of Government Efficiency.
- A further resolved clause expresses support for continued federal efforts to reduce bureaucracy and use technology in government.
- A further resolved clause encourages more public-private collaboration on government efficiency.
- The final clause directs the Clerk of the House to prepare copies for distribution to the public and press.
