A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the 2025 Board of Governors Award re cipient, Wanda1
Whitten; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Wanda Whitten has been a major part of the fabric of the Rome community for3
over 50 years; and4
WHEREAS, during her tenure at AdventHealth Redmond, Wanda was t he hospital's first5
Director of Nutritional Services, after which she moved into the Marketing and Community6
Relations Department serving as Director of the hospital's form er H2U Senior Adult7
Program; and8
WHEREAS, Wanda is the former President of the Georgia Dietetic Association and former9
President of the Southeastern Conference for Dieticians; and10
WHEREAS, Wanda is a 22 year member of the Exchange Club of Rome , former Board11
member and former Chair of Youth Awards, and former Chair of Santa for Seniors; and 12
WHEREAS, she has been awarded Volunteer of the Year by the Rome Club as well as13
Georgia District Volunteer of the Year; and14

WHEREAS, the Exchange Club Georgia District's annual Volunteer Award is named in her15
honor; and16
WHEREAS, Wanda is a former Board member of Coosa Valley Fair Association, where she 17
started the Senior Ms. CVF pageant and continues to volunteer at the fair every year; and18
WHEREAS, Wanda is a Senior Promotions Council member, former Chair of the Council,19
and served 13 plus years as the Chair of the annual Senior Inforum; and20
WHEREAS, Wanda is a former member of the Pilot Club of Rome, pa st president and21
former Lieutenant of the Georgia District, and a former member of Rome Festivals Council;22
and23
WHEREAS, Wanda is a volunteer with initial years of the Rome Celebrity Dance Challenge,24
former Executive Director of Mis Rome Competition, Miss Georgia Competition, current25
Miss Georgia Field Director and VP of the Miss Georgia Four Points Scholarship Fund; and26

WHEREAS, she is the former Event Coordinator for the Heart of the Community overseeing28
numerous award galas and service projects including the Heart House; and29
WHEREAS, she received the Dr. Thomas F. Frist Humanitarian Awar d for outstanding30
service.31
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that32
the members of this body recognize Wanda Whitten for her outsta nding dedication to the33
community, commend her as a recipient of the 2025 Board of Governors Award, and extend34
the most sincere best wishes for continued success.35

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized36
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to37
