By: Representatives Cummings of the 39 th, Campbell of the 35 th, Wilkerson of the 38 th,
McQueen of the 61st, Sanchez of the 42nd, and others
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Jerrica Richardson; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Jerrica Richardson has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the2
vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare3
of the citizens of Georgia; and4
WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,5
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced6
dramatically by her superlative service with the Cobb County Board of Commissioners; and7
WHEREAS, in 2020, she made history when she was the first African American elected to8
serve District 2 on the Cobb County Board of Commissioners; and9
WHEREAS, Jerrica served with honor and distinction with the Cob b County Board of10
Commissioners until she was targeted politically and drawn out of her district prior to the11
completion of her term; and12

WHEREAS, her significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience and13
diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have14
earned her respect and admiration; and15
WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for16
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and17
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le and distinguished18
Georgian is appropriately honored.19
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20
the members of this body recognize and commend Jerrica Richards on for her efficient,21
effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most22
sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24
and directed to make an appr opriate copy of t his resolution ava ilable for distribution to25
Jerrica Richardson.26
