House Resolution 989

A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Gloria Dubberly upon the grand occasion of her retirement; 1
and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Gloria Dubberly has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the3
vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare4
of the citizens of Georgia; and5
WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,6
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced7
dramatically by her superlative service as the Tattnall County Probate Judge for over 208
years; and9
WHEREAS, Gloria first served as Chief Clerk in the Probate Judg e's Office in Tattnall10
County for ten years before running for office as Probate Judge; and 11
WHEREAS, outside of work, Gloria is a member of First Baptist Church of Glennville and12
is very committed to Dayspring Walk to Emmaus, where she has se rved on the Board of13
Directors; and14

WHEREAS, Gloria's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience15
and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state16
have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and17
WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for18
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and19
WHEREAS, Gloria has served with honor and distinction in Tattnall County, and her vision20
and unyielding commitment to her community will be sorely missed upon the occasion of21
her retirement; and22
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this23
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.24
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25
the members of this body recognize and commend Gloria Dubberly for her efficient,26
effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia; congratulate her27
upon the grand occasion of her retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for28
continued health and happiness.29
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30
and directed to make an appr opriate copy of t his resolution ava ilable for distribution to31
Gloria Dubberly.32
