## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A House resolution formally notifies the Georgia Senate that the House of Representatives has convened for the 2025-2026 regular session and is ready to conduct business.

### Plain-language summary

This is a procedural resolution passed at the start of a Georgia General Assembly session. It does not create, change, or repeal any law. Instead, it directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to send official notice to the Senate that the House has convened in regular session and is ready to begin its work.
This kind of resolution is a routine opening step in each legislative session, letting the two chambers formally acknowledge to each other that they are both operating and able to take up bills and other business.

### What it does

- Instructs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to formally notify the Georgia Senate that the House has convened.
- States that the House is now in regular session and ready for the transaction of legislative business.
- Creates no new law, funding, or penalty; it is a one-time procedural notice between the two chambers.

### Who it affects

This resolution mainly affects the internal operations of the Georgia General Assembly, specifically the Clerk of the House of Representatives and the Georgia Senate, who receive formal notice that the House has convened.

### Why it matters

This resolution is purely procedural and has no direct effect on the public. It simply confirms, through official legislative custom, that the House of Representatives is open for business so the Senate and House can begin working together on legislation.

### Key provisions

- The resolution's single operative clause directs the Clerk of the House to notify the Senate that the House has convened in regular session.
- States the House is ready for the transaction of business, a standard formality at the start of a legislative session.
