Not legal advice. version: Floor Amend 1 version_id: amendment:2025-2026/sb163/235497@235497 --- # Floor Amend 1 to SB 163 25 Floor Amend 1 ADOPTED Senators Parent of the 44th and Jones of the 10th offered the following amendment #1: Amend the Senate Committee on Judiciary substitute to SB 163 (LC 49 2287S): by Inserting at line 93 (i) Except where possession of a firearm by a child is lawful under Code Section 16-11-132, a person commits the offense of making a firearm accessible to a child if such child gains access to a readily dischargeable firearm, and the person with criminal negligence: (1) Failed to secure the firearm; or (2) Let the firearm in a place to which the person knew or should have known the child could gain access. (j) a violation of subsection (i) shall be a misdemeanor.
