By: Senators Anderson of the 43rd, Jackson of the 41st, Jones II of the 22nd, Wicks of the
34th, Kemp of the 38th and others
A RESOLUTION
Commending the Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. upon
its 50th anniversary; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, this year, the Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority
Inc. proudly celebrates 50 years of dedicated service, sisterhood, and community impact in
DeKalb County, Georgia, and its surrounding cities; and
WHEREAS, since its chartering in 1976, the chapter has remained committed to the mission
of service to all mankind, implementing programs that promote education, health awareness,
economic empowerment, and social justice; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter have made significant
contributions to the residents of DeKalb County, Georgia, through scholarships, youth
mentoring, community outreach initiatives, and partnerships with civic and nonprofit
organizations; and
WHEREAS, over the past 50 years, the chapter has served as a beacon of leadership,
volunteerism, and advocacy, uplifting families and strengthening communities throughout
DeKalb County, Georgia, and neighboring municipalities; and
WHEREAS, the chapter continues to uphold the legacy and principles of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority Inc.—the nation's first Greek-letter organization founded by African American
college-educated women—while inspiring future generations of leaders through service and
scholarship; and
WHEREAS, the celebration of this Golden Anniversary honors not only the achievements
of its members but also the enduring impact of 50 years of community commitment and
excellence.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
commend the Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. upon the
grand occasion of its 50th anniversary as well as extend best wishes for many more years of
successful service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Lambda
Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
