Senate Resolution 1008

A RESOLUTION
Commending Rachel Kinsaul, the 2026 Georgia Teacher of the Year, on being named a
finalist for the 2026 National Teacher of the Year; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Rachel Kinsaul, an accomplished agricultural science educator at Morgan
County High School, was selected as the 2026 Georgia Teacher of the Year, earning
recognition for her outstanding leadership, dedication, and excellence in advancing student
learning and success; and
WHEREAS, the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) has named Ms. Kinsaul
as one of only five finalists for the 2026 National Teacher of the Year, bringing great credit
to the State of Georgia and its public education system; and
WHEREAS, throughout her tenure as Georgia Teacher of the Year, Ms. Kinsaul has served
as a statewide advocate for public education, amplifying educator voices and promoting
meaningful, hands-on, career-connected learning for students across the state; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Kinsaul is distinguished for her ability to connect classroom instruction to
real world experiences, particularly through agricultural education, project-based learning,
and leadership development, preparing students to become confident, productive community
members; and
WHEREAS, her work has strengthened agricultural education programs, expanded
opportunities for students to engage in authentic problem solving, and inspired countless
young people to discover their strengths and pursue purposeful futures; and
WHEREAS, Rachel Kinsaul's exemplary service, her unwavering commitment to Georgia
students, and her distinguished representation of this state on the national stage reflect the
highest ideals of the teaching profession.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
commend Rachel Kinsaul for her recognition as the 2026 Georgia Teacher of the Year and
for her outstanding achievement in being named a finalist for the 2026 National Teacher of
the Year as well as extend their sincere best wishes for her continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Rachel Kinsaul.
