Grooms is a woman of strong faith, dedication, and service, who has devoted her life to uplifting others through ministry, education, and community outreach; and WHEREAS, she is the cherished daughter of Mrs. Mary Katherine Kimbrough and the late Mr. Roosevelt Kimbrough, and the loving wife of Reverend Jesse L. Grooms; and WHEREAS, she is a devoted mother to Ashley L. Lyles, DeJuan Mitchell, and the late Gary R. Williams, and a proud and loving grandmother to Jacobi Hunt, Jacorion Williams, Janiyah Williams, and Aysen Lyles, who are truly the joys of her heart; and WHEREAS, Evangelist Grooms faithfully answered her call to ministry at Colbert African Methodist Episcopal Church in Seale, Alabama, where she began her spiritual journey as a licensed Evangelist, demonstrating unwavering commitment to spreading the Gospel and serving others; and WHEREAS, she continues to serve as the appointed President of the Northeast Alabama Conference Minister Spouses, Widows and Widowers Organization, along with PK's for the Phenix City, Alabama District Conference, providing leadership, encouragement, and support to families in ministry; and WHEREAS, Evangelist Grooms dedicated 24 years of faithful service to the Muscogee County School District as a paraprofessional, positively impacting the lives of countless students before retiring in 2011; and WHEREAS, in 2018, she founded Women of Destiny Outreach Ministries, a nonprofit organization committed to serving the community and raising awareness for breast cancer and all cancer-related causes under the theme, "We're All In This Fight Together-All Cancer Matters," inspiring hope, unity, and compassion; and WHEREAS, her life and work are guided by her favorite scripture, Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," which she exemplifies daily through her faith, leadership, and service; and WHEREAS, Evangelist Amanda K.
