Senate Resolution 1032
By: Senator Hatchett of the 50th
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the Rabun County High School boys basketball team; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS, the Rabun County High School Wildcats boys basketball team has
demonstrated outstanding athletic excellence, teamwork, discipline, and perseverance
throughout the 2025-2026 season; and
WHEREAS, the Wildcats completed a historic and memorable season by capturing the
Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class A Division I State Championship, defeating
Southwest High School of Macon by a score of 52-43 in the championship game; and
WHEREAS, this victory marks the first boys basketball state championship in the history of
Rabun County High School and represents a landmark achievement for the school and the
citizens of Rabun County; and
WHEREAS, the team's success is a testament to the exceptional leadership and dedication
of the coaching staff, including David Adcock and Corey Page; and
WHEREAS, the members of the championship team are: R.J. Williamson, Graham
Anderson, Huey Blalock, Landan Bedingfield, Brantley Cavender, Reed Burrell, Cord
Burrell, Khanii Thompson, Colton Crane, Hayes Free, Hazen Morgan, Hayden Cannon, and
Trace Adcock; and
WHEREAS, the team was further supported by dedicated managers Evan Woodall, Reeves
Page, and Cal Burrell, whose contributions played an important role in the team's success;
and
WHEREAS, each player, coach, and supporter displayed discipline, resilience, and
sportsmanship, serving as exemplary representatives of their school, their families, and the
Rabun County community; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordinary accomplishments of
this outstanding group of student-athletes be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
recognize and commend the Rabun County High School boys basketball team for winning
the 2025-2026 GHSA Class A Division I State Championship and extend their most sincere
congratulations for this historic achievement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Rabun County
High School boys basketball team.
