Vaughn, Lee; recognize ## Text Senate Resolution 1050 By: Senators Anderson of the 24th, Hatchett of the 50th, Hufstetler of the 52nd, Tillery of the 19th, Cowsert of the 46th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Lee Vaughn; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Lee Vaughn has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and WHEREAS, Lee was elected Commissioner of District Two on January 1, 2015, and went on the be elected Chairman of Commissioners in 2019, a position he held until his retirement; and WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state; and WHEREAS, Lee's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and he possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life; and WHEREAS, in addition to his role with District Two, Lee currently serves as the President of Northeast Georgia Bank and is involved in the Community Bankers Association, the Georgia Bankers Association, the Hartwell Rotary Club, Athens Technical College Foundation Board of Directors, and the Elbert Memorial Hospital Foundation Board of Directors; and WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and WHEREAS, Lee has served with honor and distinction with District Two, and his vision and unyielding commitment will be sorely missed upon the occasion of his; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Lee Vaughn for his efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia; congratulate him upon the grand occasion of his retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
