A RESOLUTION

Congratulating and commending the Mary Persons FFA forestry team for winning the 2025 National FFA Forestry Career Development Event; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Mary Persons FFA forestry team achieved national distinction by securing first place in the 2025 National FFA Forestry Career Development Event, held during the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana; and

WHEREAS, the team members, Ryan Bertram, Liam Parks, Joseph Thompson, and Carter Johnson, represented the State of Georgia with excellence through their knowledge, preparation, and performance in this highly competitive national event; and

WHEREAS, the National FFA Forestry Career Development Event is designed to develop students' understanding of forestry principles, including forest ecology, sustainability, and the economic and environmental impact of forest resources; and

WHEREAS, participants in this rigorous event demonstrate proficiency in identifying tree species, analyzing environmental and social factors affecting forest management, applying silvicultural practices, conducting forest inventory, and utilizing appropriate tools and safety procedures in forestry management; and

WHEREAS, their accomplishment brings great credit to their school, their community, and the State of Georgia, exemplifying the strength of agricultural education and career development programs within this state; and

WHEREAS, the success of these outstanding students serves as an example of the value of career and technical education in preparing young people for future leadership and professional opportunities in forestry and natural resource management.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body congratulate and commend the Mary Persons FFA forestry team for winning the 2025 National FFA Forestry Career Development Event and extend their best wishes for continued success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Mary Persons FFA forestry team.
