A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Deputy Anthony Pacifico for his courageous and valiant service in the line of duty; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Deputy Anthony Pacifico has faithfully served the citizens of Cherokee County as a dedicated member of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office since November 2018; and
WHEREAS, he further distinguished himself by graduating from the North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy in 2020 and serving four years as a patrol deputy in the Oak Grove Precinct, during which time he responded to approximately 9,000 calls for service and served as the investigating officer on approximately 1,200 cases and incidents; and
WHEREAS, in 2024, he was selected to serve in the Special Operations Division as a K-9 handler, continuing his exemplary service to the citizens of Cherokee County; and
WHEREAS, on the evening of October 25, 2025, Deputy Pacifico responded alongside fellow deputies to a welfare check involving a potentially endangered individual, demonstrating his readiness to serve and protect; and
WHEREAS, during the course of that response, a violent suspect armed with a knife launched a life-threatening attack against Deputy Nicolas Glass, placing the deputy in immediate and grave danger; and
WHEREAS, upon hearing his fellow deputy's call for help, Deputy Pacifico acted swiftly and decisively, confronting the armed assailant and using his training and judgment to stop the attack and protect the life of his partner; and
WHEREAS, Deputy Pacifico's actions, taken in a matter of seconds under extreme and dangerous circumstances, exemplify the highest standards of courage, professionalism, and devotion to duty; and
WHEREAS, through his bravery and selfless willingness to place himself in harm's way, Deputy Pacifico helped bring a dangerous situation under control, protecting both his fellow officer and the community; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding courage, dedication, and service of Deputy Anthony Pacifico be appropriately honored.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Deputy Anthony Pacifico for his courageous and valiant actions and extend their deepest appreciation for his service to the citizens of Cherokee County and the State of Georgia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Deputy Anthony Pacifico.
