Senate Resolution 1063
By: Senators Anavitarte of the 31st, Walker III of the 20th, Robertson of the 29th, Bearden
of the 30th, Dolezal of the 27th and others
A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Larry Wayne Haney; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens
with the passing of Larry Wayne Haney on March 22, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Larry Wayne Haney was born on Aragon, Georgia, on July 1, 1952, a beloved
son of Henry Haney and Lois Akins Haney; and
WHEREAS, he was a lifelong resident of Rockmart, where he enjoyed a successful business
career as owner and operator of Haney Farm & Ranch Supply, Haney Powersports, and
Sidekicks Restaurant; and
WHEREAS, he was a true cowboy who enjoyed all facets of rodeo life as well as a devoted
family man who greatly cherished the time he spent with his family; and
WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Elaine, and was blessed with
two remarkable daughters, Shea and Alison; five wonderful grandchildren, Avery, Ty, Noah,
Kayson, and Knox; and two outstanding great-grandchildren, Livi and Margo; and
WHEREAS, Larry Wayne Haney gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals,
and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he
demonstrated to his family and friends were admired by others; and
WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation
for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he
made this world a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Larry Wayne Haney will long be
remembered for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who
had the great fortune of knowing him.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
join in honoring the life and memory of Larry Wayne Haney and express their deepest and
most sincere regret at his passing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Larry
Wayne Haney.
